I was beyond excited when one of my Rapid City friends got engaged and was so honored to work on her wedding paper needs and offer advice when I could. Laura had a few specific ideas including using a navy blue nautical theme and lots and lots photography.
At the time we started on the Save the Dates, Laura’s fiance Jake was working out of state so engagement shots were not feasible. Laura had her location set – Sylvan Lake – so we used that as our inspiration for a vintage Save the Date postcard. Definitely one of my all-time favorites!
Next we started on the invitation suite. Keeping with the photography theme, Jake and Laura turned to Joice Ruffing Photography for images of the couple at their Black Hills home. The teepee is theirs (!) and so iconic that I can’t think of a better invite to represent western South Dakota. The firepit is also on their property and absolutely perfect to show Jake and Laura’s love of the outdoors. The images were so sweet and unique that I suggested we use one for the invite and one for the RSVP.
The final piece of Jake and Laura’s stationery was a booklet program. I added a fun arrow monogram and a pop of green. The couple also added a personal touch to their wedding party list by including a brief description of how they met each person.
I wish Jake and Laura so much love and happiness, and I’m so blessed to call them friends!
